Sanctuary Waters - Canning Vale 9.30am
Group photo - 40 dogs - new record!!! Well done everyone
Thanks member Molly for sharing your local spot -
it was a great location, with plenty of shade and a lovely breeze
"Java" begging for a drink
"Shannon" - the Great Dane and "Zeena"
One of our members has kindly recommended a great walk in Canning Vale - there is a figure eight walk, plenty of shade, and according to Andy it takes around half an hour at a casual pace. So we have decided to hold the next "Dachshunds in the Park"on :
DATE: Sunday, 13th March 2011
MEETING POINT: Sanctuary Waters in Canningvale (The best entrance is Sanctuary Ave off Ranford Rd (carries on from the end of South St), turn right at the roundabout at the park into Alexandria Blvd, there is street parking.)
TIME: 9.15am meeting point, walk to start at 9.30am (weather permitting)
Hope to see you there...
We are hoping to hold the next one on Sunday, 13th March after Labour Day week-end and praying it cools down a little for our Long Dog members.
If any of you know of a park with a lot of shade near you which would be good for a gathering - please let me know.
Otherwise we will keep you posted.
Hyde Park, adjacent to Vincent and William Streets is really shady!
ReplyDeleteFor a great shaded park with a lovely walk track around the outside can be The Carine open space just off Beach Road Carine. One of the best parks in the Northern suburb.
ReplyDeleteI take Molly around the lakes at Sanctuary Waters in Canningvale, there is a figure eight walk, plenty of shade, it takes us around half an hour at a casual pace.

I take poo-bags, the City of Gosnells has the bins but in the 18 months I have been walking there the bag dispensers have always been empty.
What an awesome day out. Thanks Molly (and Andy) for letting us share your great park. Thank you to everyone who made us feel welcome. (even our extra long dog felt welcome). Being with so many caring people and happy dogs really helped Zeena start to be more social.
