Long Dog Stats...

So you probably all know that over the years we have registered 713 dachshund members.  Sadly some of those have passed on or moved away, but that is still a lot of sausages.

I thought it would be interesting to share a few fun facts about our membership.

Did you know;

The six most common names for dachshund in our group are;

Frankie/Frank17
Ruby12
Lucy8
Dexter7
Molly7
Dash/Dasha/Dasher7

354 of our members have a name that is currently unique within our group.

77% of our members are miniature, 8% are standard and 15% not recorded.

The top 3 suburbs with the highest number of recorded members are;

Canning Vale
Aveley
Victoria Park

However - of course there are lies, damned lies, and statistics.  I know for a fact that I met two dogs with the same name on the weekend, and only one of them is registered as a member...

If you'd like to be a registered member of Long Dogs WA, please email us a photo of your dog, his or her name, coat, size and suburb and few words that capture your dogs' character. I'd love to say that membership comes with a secret handshake and a decoder ring - but you will get a blog post and a sense of belonging.

  2. Ahhh...I still remember being approached at the Million Paws Walk all those years ago when there was just 4 members! I can't believe how much it has grown. I remember stopping my car and grabbing people on the streets to sign them up if they had a dachshund with them hahahaha
