Dachshunds in the park - October 2014

We didn't let the wet weather put a dampener on our walking enthusiasm and we had a really great turn out for such a wet day.

At 8:30 am the rain was coming down in buckets, but just before 9 it slowed to barely a drizzle and we got a good 45 minute walk in before a light shower started up again.  There were definitely some scouts in the crowd who came prepared for the wet.

It was lovely to see old friends we haven't seen in a while, and to meet some of our new members, including beautiful Bear.

Our walks are great stimulation for the dog on the go...

as well as the ambulatory challenged.

It was great to see you all if ever so briefly.  You can find more pictures of the walk in the online gallery.

For our October walk we're heading back to Piney Lakes Reserve in Winthrop. (Map)

We are asking that anyone with donations for the raffle at the FUNdraiser in November to please bring these along to the October walk.

Piney Lakes has an off lead area for dogs which is where we'll be walking but please keep dogs out of the restricted reserve area. If weather permits, bring along some picnic things for a bite to eat and a chance to chat after the walk.

We're hoping to have a milder day than we did in September...

The meeting point will be near the car park off Murdoch Drive, marked with the pin on Google Maps.

DATE: Sunday 19 Oct 2014
