"It was with heavy hearts and much sadness that we had to have our darling Oscar put to sleep on 9th March 2015. For a little dachsie who loved his food he had a most cruel and aggressive disease of a cancerous tumour in his mouth so although he wanted to eat this was hugely difficult for him. He was fourteen years old and such a wonderful, gentle-natured companion. His twin sister, Amber, is still looking for her trusty brother and we, "mum and dad", are absolutely devastated. Wherever I was so was he - in the kitchen, in the garden, bringing in the shopping and snuggling up on the couch. We have him safely at home buried in his favourite sunny spot on the back lawn. I feel as if my heart has been ripped out and though time may lessen the pain memories of him will always be deeply etched in my mind. Farewell our handsome long boy. Mummy, daddy and Amber ."
