Dachshunds in the Park...

Sunday, 23rd September 2012
South Beach - Fremantle

Visitors to South Beach were wide eyed on the morning of Sunday 23rd September as a parade of sausages marched past.

Group photo by Kathryn Napier
Group photo - official count 78 dachies
with 3 Sydney Dachshund Club members found along the way

It was wonderful to see dachshunds of all ages, colours, coats and and sizes enjoying a romp on the sand and in the surf.

There was a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

Some young ones were a little unsure at first... others couldn't wait to get into the thick of it.

There was plenty of time to play in the sand...

and new experiences for the young and old.

Members started gathering from 9:30am with picture perfect spring weather for a morning walk.

The Indian Ocean was a beautiful backdrop for a great morning out.

Special thanks to Jo and her team of helpers for organising this event.

Thank you to all of the photographers on the day.  Special mention to Leanne Costa who seemed to get a stunning portrait of just about every dog who came along. For more of these stunning pictures, see our facebook page.

We had a pack of new members joining us at the walk, boosting numbers to an amazing 375. If there is anyone who has recently joined through the facebook page, please send a photo and a few words to longdogswa@bigpond.com

so we can add you to our blog and include you in our membership count.

Saxon, you were missed and we look forward to seeing you back with us soon.

The next event is Halloweiner so we hope to see all of you there to help raise money for Dachshund Rescue Australia.
