Long Dogs WA Events Calendar 2016

In 2016, Long Dogs WA are raising their paws with an events calendar that’s guaranteed to get those tails wagging! It’s going to be filled with fun activities for both the furry and human family members and jam packed with great opportunities to raise funds for dachshunds in need.

Monthly Social Walks
We kicked off our monthly walks in January and for those of you who missed the calendar, here for the walk dates for the rest of the year.

These are great social events for you and your dachshund and no matter where you live in Perth, we’ve spread the locations out so that everyone can attend all or some of them.

Long Dogs WA High Tea Fundraiser 2016
Fancy a cup of tea with a delicious scone covered in a dollop of generosity? Our High Tea Fundraiser was a huge success in 2015 and on the 28th of May 2016, we’ll be hosting this lovely afternoon at The Pagoda once again. Tickets are strictly limited so make sure you secure your seat or table as soon as tickets are on sale to avoid disappointment. Whilst this is a “fur free” event, ladies feel free to bring the gents along so they can assist with eating the fabulous food and bidding ever so “quietly” on the silent auction items that will be up for grabs on the day. There will also be great prizes to be won, a challenging quiz along with a lots of fabulous merchandise for sale!

Charity Movie Screening “The Secret Life of Pets”
Ever wonder what your pets get up to whilst you are at work or out during the day? Well on Sunday the 11th of September, Long Dogs WA are hosting a Charity Screening at Grand Cinemas in Warwick of the movie “The Secret Life of Pets”. Click here to view the trailer.
We would love for you to bring along friends and family with all profits being donated to dachshunds in need. There will be door prizes up for grabs and whilst we know how much you all like to snuggle with your fur babies to watch a good movie, this too is a “fur free” event. At least we’ll all know what they are doing whilst we are at the movies……

Annual Long Dogs WA Fundraiser
Last year’s annual “Cirque du Sausage” fundraiser was a “clowning” success with double the number of humans and dachshunds attending when compared to the years prior. We are looking forward to seeing both new and familiar faces later this year at Kings Meadow Polo Ground on Sunday the 23rd of October. Each year the fundraising team put their thinking caps on to decide on a theme for the day. Let’s face it, our dachshunds are our children, our best mates and we share our lives together watching them grow so we thought it was perfect to theme our 2016 fundraiser………

“When I grow up, I wanna be…..”

Personally, I would like to be a spoilt dachshund when I grow up. Imagine all those belly rubs, kisses, cuddles, scratches, bubble baths, home cooked meals ZZZ zzz ZZZ zzz, oops sorry I was dreaming there for a minute! So let’s see how many astronauts, doctors, nurses, teachers, fur firemen, pilots etc we’ll have amongst our long dog’s community. I already know we have a professional wrestler (Jonathon a.k.a “Nacho Libre”), body builder (Ryder) and model (Molly). We may even have a few celebrities join us on the day…….

Other great fundraising initiatives for 2016 will include Easter Chocolates, Entertainment Books and Bunning’s Sausage Sizzles. We’ll also be putting together some fabulous gift packs for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day so be sure to check out our online shop at https://longdogswa.org/shop/. We’re also pleased to inform you that we have a new mobile PayPal machine which will enable easier payment options at walks and events!

Your Generosity goes a “long” way
2016 is going to be another great year for Long Dogs WA, as with your continued support, you not only get to hang out with other crazy dachshund enthusiasts but your generosity makes a huge difference to so many dachshunds in need. Should you wish to volunteer to assist at any of these events, please let us know by contacting us via longdogswa@gmail.com
